Parc André Citroën (8)

Located in Paris's 15th arrondissement, on the Left Bank of the Seine, Parc André Citroën covers 14 hectares on the site of the former André Citroën automobile factory, founded in 1915 and dismantled in the 1980s. Opened in 1992, it was designed by landscape architects Gilles Clément and Alain Provost together with architects Patrick Berger, Jean-François Jodry and Jean-Paul Viguier. A vast central lawn slopes down toward the river, flanked by two glass greenhouses housing Mediterranean and exotic plants. The park also includes six themed serial gardens, a wild "garden in movement," a canal and reflecting pools. Since 1999, a tethered balloon, the Ballon de Paris Generali, has offered aerial views of the capital from up to 150 metres.
