Ouidah, Benin. Lake Toho, Tchiakpecodji Ahozon landing stage. A floating wooden pontoon, supported by metal drums and used tyres serving as fenders, is moored at the lake's edge. On the bank, pirogues are pulled ashore in front of tin-roofed houses framed by palm trees and dense vegetation. Built with locally available materials, this improvised landing stage serves as the daily departure point for crossings on Lake Toho.
