Description:
Ouidah, Benin. Lake Toho, Tchiakpecodji Ahozon landing stage. A floating wooden pontoon, supported by metal drums and used tyres serving as fenders, is moored at the lake's edge. On the bank, pirogues are pulled ashore in front of tin-roofed houses framed by palm trees and dense vegetation. Built with locally available materials, this improvised landing stage serves as the daily departure point for crossings on Lake Toho. The image documents the informal infrastructure that organises everyday life along the lake's shores.
