This castle, finished in the XVIIth century, initially belonged to Charles de Valois (1573 1650), count of Auvergne and duke of Angoulême. In 1962 the estate was bought by the "Société d'encouragement à l'élevage du cheval français" who set up a training center for racehorses. The architect of the castle is unknown, the style is influenced by the designs of Jacques Androuet du Cerceau.
